NORAD, before 9/11,
planned a military exercise called Amalgam Virgo,
in which NORAD fighter jets responded to simulated
hijackings. The exercise involved 1,500 people and
included the possibility of shooting down a civilian airliner
loaded with passengers. Agents from the FBI and RCMP played the
hijackers. The exercise was finally executed on June 4, 2002 (from
gazette.com, June 5, 2002). The significant points that
NORAD planned the exercise before 9/11, thus indicating that it
considered a scenario such as 9/11 a significant threat.
There is a
leaked FBI document called I99IWF213589 that blocked
anti-terrorism investigations of the bin Laden family, Saudi
charities, and al-Qaeda. Bush ordered the FBI to stop
investigations of Abdullah bin Laden and the World Association
Youth, a known terror smokescreen outfit. WAMY’s own
education pamphlets extol the ideas of Osama bin Laden and
protected him prior to 9/11.
Special FBI agent Robert Wright was prevented to investigate
anti-terrorist organizations. Michael Springman, head of American
Visa Bureau in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, was ordered to issue visas to
Al-Qaeda members so they could participate in terrorist training
run by Osama bin Laden and the CIA.
