There is a knowing of the heart

that words cannot convey,

as we are changed upon this journey,

and our deepest feelings reveal to us

the meaning of our lives.

The act of trusting as we let go,

transforms our thoughts into awareness

of the movements of the Spirit.

For us there are no endings.

Eternity surrounds us

as the changing landscape of our endless journey.

The struggle to claim our freedom,

as an expression of the Spirit,

is not a finish line to cross,

but is the path of life that flows like a river.

Our rest is in the harmony of divine action,

and we are refreshed in heart and mind

by the beauty along the way.

The life within us stirs with the Spirit's intent.

It encourages us in each precious moment

to resonate the presence of the sacred heart of Christ.

Wanting each word to count,

And yet that which we share is beyond words.

So we sing a song. We tell our story.

We remember the experiences that have shaped our perceptions,

seeing them through new eyes, with greater understanding.

But while our hearts yet burn with awakening,

we talk about the weather or the state of the world,

or our short term plans for this and that,

our souls shrouded by our human form.

Still with a sense of the infinite kindness that has touched our lives,

we see Christ in the eyes of each other,

for our struggles are much the same.

We are like the rays of the sun breaking through the clouds,

sharing in the laughter of faith,

as we dance to the sweet melody of each new day.

So let us be light of heart, as we spend this brief moment together.

greeting each other with the prayer of one traveler for another.

Fare thee well dear friend,

May your life bring you joy and peace,

And may the freedom of the Spirit

be your resting place.
