Michael Jackson, Commentary |

I have
been really troubled about the indifference and
in some cases outward cruelty expressed in regards
to Michael Jackson and especially now during
his passing. After reading an article of the “ranting
soldier “ I realize that a bridge could maybe
be built here.
As Michael Jackson would say, we are all one. He expressed relentlessly his compassion for all lives lost and all suffering in the world. He was a humanitarian and a compassionate man. He just didn’t advertise it as a publicity stunt. His fans loved him for the kindness and joy he gave. Any resentment for Michael Jackson’s fanatic following will undoubtedly cause pain - the same pain his enemies inflict upon themselves and others due to their hostile position. Millions of people all over the world have been deeply touched by the joy of his music and the healing message he sends to the world. It would bring love and light to our hearts if we develop compassion for those grieving the loss of any life including the world’s biggest entertainer. The fact that he captured the media’s parasitic frenzy is is due the incredible profits to be made in the paparazzi world of fame and celebrity status. The mainstream western culture is yet at war again when it puts others down in aims to ruin them. Even in the schools and workplace can we sense this hostile atmosphere. I think the grief over the loss of Michael Jackson is deepened by the troubling circumstances around his death as well as the harmful media frenzy that followed him for a large part of his career spewing out rumors and lies. There have been reported suicides among fans since his death. There are so many inconsistencies in the information given about his death that some people believe he was assassinated. Who could be so cruel as to want to ruin such a beautifully gifted and innovative artist ? He had been kicked very hard when he faced the prospect of 20 years imprisonment, but after being acquitted on all fourteen charges, he was clearly making a comeback and this provided great hope to millions of people. His joy of music, dance and film and his consistent message of love are exactly what the world needs. He seemed to be becoming more assertive in his public addresses in the last period of his life. Some of his newer songs carry messages of revolutionary resistance to the world order. He had started to speak out and even mention forming a new “army”. ..he called it “soldiers of love”. He was a humanitarian and he spoke of love more than anything else. The people who mourn for Michael Jackson mourn for all the suffering in the world because they too believe we are one. Please have a look at his video clips. I would like to share the lyrics to his "Earth Song" : Only peace can bring a brighter day. No more sorrow, no more pain.
He never paid attention to the tabloids and media bullshit. He didn’t watch TV. He may have made some mistakes by underestimating his enemies. His death, whatever the cause (prescription drug addiction as the mainstream media is reporting or murder) is the clear signal of the danger of the predator mainstream culture. When the news of Michael Jackson’s death came I was surprised. I liked his music but I never considered myself a fan. I watched the memorial service and cried as I remembered crying when I watched Lady Diana’s funeral … funny she too had been starting to get more politically outspoken when her deadly accident occurred. The fact that Michael Jackson was the highest paid entertainer in the world and also of black heritage makes him a pretty powerful icon - his comeback was called by some his resurrection, which might have been as big as if not bigger than Obamamania. To get the picture,
please see Michael Jackson new album teaser: I sincerely believe the millions who mourn for the loss of Michael Jackson the pop star are not by this way expressing any disrespect to any other loss of life. They are mourning for the tremendous loss of a very powerful symbol of joy, love, compassion and tolerance. A light of hope has gone out for millions of people around the world. We must rekindle the flame and build bridges..and live as one. Melody
