9/11 victims are slamming the so-called independent investigation into the
Sept. 11 attacks, saying that too many on the panel are using the probe to
"grandstand for political gain" in a bid to damage President Bush in an
election year.
Jamie Gorelick, now on the panel, was deputy Attorney General under Janet
Reno, and Gorelick was the one who put out a memo as a "wall" to block
exchange of information between those in the FBI investigating terror and
the criminal element.

In regard to 9-11, I'm more and more inclined to believe that Bush
did not know. In fact, it becomes clearer and clearer that he still knows
nothing. He likes it that way. Seems that when he was being briefed on
August 6, 2001 about the threat of Bin Laden attacking targets IN THE
UNITED STATES, that he broke off the briefing and went fishing.
In his recent press conference he admitted that he wouldn't like to be
occupied either, so we can surmise from his own words that he is not
really occupied and happy to be unoccupied. It becomes evermore apparent
that no one is home, gone fishing.
When asked about 9-11 he didn't seem to be too sure of what he felt and
when he felt it. He said, "on that day, I was angry and sad. Angry that
al-Qaeda - I thought at the time al-Qaeda, found out shortly thereafter it
was al-Qaeda - had unleashed this attack." He was angry and sad that day
because he found out later that al-Qaeda had done what the August PDB had
warned five days earlier. So how can you be angry that day because of what
you found out later? No one is home, gone fishing.
He wished that they had had Homeland Security, although in the spring of
2001 his Administration had fought the plan proposed by the bipartisan
Hart-Rutland commission to set up an agency to coordinate domestic
intelligence under a new department called Homeland Security. Fought it
and then seeminly forgot that he had fought against what he wished he had.

He admitted that the US was not on a war footing before 9-11 even though
he purposely downgraded the importance of terrorism on American soil and
said so in his first report on counter-terrorism. But after being slapped
across the face with a 2 X 4 with 3,000 Americans dying, he did react
quickly after trying valiantly to find a way to pin it on Iraq first. Then
he pinned the tail on the Taleban even though the Taleban were among those
who sent advance warning of a terrorist attack and were willing to turn
bin Laden over to an Islamic court in Pakistan. No one home, gone fishing.
He noted that the country was not on a war-footing before 9-11 yet he was
the one who would share the information he was getting so that the rest of
us could have the same advantage. He travels in his own jet. John Ashcroft
had taken to chartering his own air-transportation, Salman Rushdie was
warned, San Francisoc Willie Brown was warned, the Pentagon brass were
warned. That's about it. We were on high alert through June, July and
August, but no one told us about it. I feel kind of left out. I bet the
families of the 9-11 victims feel the same. He didn't notice who sets the
war-footing, maybe. What's that to do with him?!! He's gone fishing. it's
hard, you know.
He makes it very clear that "... there was nobody in our government"
That's what I mean. See he just comes out and says it ..."there's nobody
in our government..." I've come around to actually agree with that. Well,
in context he said that "... there was nobody in our government, at least,
and I don't think the prior government that could envision flying
airplanes into buildings on such a massive scale." You can see how he
projects a lack of vision. Planes crashing into targets? Well, we hadn't
seen anything like that since.....the G8 Conference in June 2001.... with
security precautions all around. He was there. Well, at least the
photographs and news reports seem to imply that. He perhaps wasn't told
about the security measures the Italian government installed: no fly
zones, steel walls around the compound, anti-aircraft batteries, high
security....it probably looked all the same to Bush. He said he learned
from the Genoa G-8 conference that we should look to the safety of
Americans. But where are the results of that wishful thinking? It's really
hard being President, you know. That's why he has spent nearly half of his
time at the ranch or at Camp David or up at Daddy's place in Maine.
You would think that he might have seen a war movie sometime in his youth
or childhood with kamikazes slamming into battleships. He must have been
too busy fishing on March 3, 2001 when Lone Gun Man series kicked off on
Fox TV with a thriller in which a commercial airliner is hijacked by
remote control and impact with the WTC was narrowly averted at the last
minute. That was seen by how many people? Well, he must have been busy
that night. Perhaps he was plumb tuckered out from fishing. It's hard you
know..
He might have missed the news reports of the hijacked commercial airliner
which threatened to take out the Eiffel Tower. The French raided the plane
on the ground and averted that tragedy. With the world's largest
intelligence and security service, with the possible exception of the
Mossad, you would think that somebody would have passed on the information
about the exercises run at the Pentagon testing the response of agencies
to a commercial heavy slammng into the center of the largest military the
world has ever seen. Then there was Amalgam Virgo and ..... But he seems
to have been out of the loop in getting this vital information. Condoleeza
Rice, too. Nobody's home. Out fishing.
That PDB in August was all just history, you know. You can't change
history and you can't spend too much time studying history. Got fishing to
do.
Bush was happy to see that the FBI was busily investigating things.
Unfortunately, he had left the lead law enforcement of the nation out of
the loop. Ashcroft was not allowed to see the PDB. He was probably out
praying..... or preying on the Constitution, not clear which.
He said that "had I had any inkling whatsoever that the people were going
to fly airplanes into buildings, we would have moved heaven and earth to
save the country..." The day, hour, flight number, drivers licenses,
targets, and birth certificates would have been really helpful to catch
the scoundrels, but otherwise, he just didn't know what to do but go
fishing.
Private contractors? What are they. Now about the brave soldiers of the

the power to change Gorelick's memo. Ashcroft was in charge, BUT HE DID

Earlier, Thomas Pickard, who was acting FBI director in the summer of
2001, said Ashcroft had blocked the funds he sought.
"The additional funds we were looking for on counterterrorism were
denied," Pickard said. He appealed the decision but added, "On Sept. 12,
(the day after the attacks) I read a denial of that appeal from the
attorney general." Ashcroft was in charge not Gorelick.
Pickard briefed his boss on counter-terrorism but Ashcroft told him he was
not interested in the subject and to not bring any more such information.
So after two briefings, Pickard followed orders. Ashcroft was in charge,
not Gorelick.
A quick analysis of Ashcroft"s previous statements shows he has repeatedly
lied to Congress about the Bush Administration's counterterrorism record.
Specifically, when questioned by Congress in 2002 about why he tried to
de-prioritize and slash funding for counterterrorism before 9/11, Ashcroft
resorted to dishonest denials -- even in the face of budget documents that
proved he was not telling the truth. Ashcroft is in charge of telling
truth or lies.
For instance, in testimony before the House of Representatives, Ashcroft
said that before 9/11, his "number-one goal" at the Justice Department
"was the prevention of terrorist acts" and that he immediately "began to
shape the department and its efforts in that respect"1. But according to
the Washington Post, internal Administration documents from before 9/11
"show that Ashcroft ranked counterterrorism efforts as a lower priority
than his predecessor did"2. The documents "indicate that before Sept. 11,
Ashcroft did not give terrorism top billing in his strategic plans for the
Justice Department, which includes the FBI. A draft of Ashcroft's
'Strategic Plan' from Aug. 9, 2001, does not put fighting terrorism as one
of the department's seven goals, ranking it as a sub-goal beneath gun
violence and drugs." Ashcroft was in charge, not Gorelick.
Ashcroft tried to blame his negligence of counterterrorism on the previous
Administration, telling Congress that "the five-year plan that had been
put in place by my predecessor didn't mention counterterrorism"3. But
according to the New York Times, "the plan issued by Attorney General
Janet Reno in 2000 said the Justice Department would have to devote more
attention and resources to terrorism, citing sophisticated computer and
bomb-making technology and the 'emerging threats of chemical, biological,
radiological and nuclear weapons'"4 But Ashcroft was in charge.
Ashcroft has even been dishonest about events after 9/11, telling Congress
that when the Administration was writing the emergency counterterrorism
funding bill after the attacks, the FBI "came to me with a $670 million
request, and we counseled them to take that to $1.1 billion"5. But
according to the Washington Post, "In the early days after the Sept. 11,
2001, attacks, the Bush White House cut by nearly two-thirds an emergency
request for counterterrorism funds by the FBI... The document, dated Oct.
12, 2001, shows that the FBI requested $1.5 billion in additional funds to
enhance its counterterrorism efforts with the creation of 2,024 positions.
But the White House Office of Management and Budget cut that request to
$531 million"6. Ashcroft "cut the FBI's request for items such as computer
networking and foreign language intercepts by half, cut a cyber-security
request by three quarters and eliminated entirely a request for
'collaborative capabilities.'"

allegation. It seems to be clear that this latest slice of salacious news
does not change the fact of the Federal felony committed by the leak to
Robert Novak. It just provides distraction about the facts. Given that the

country, participating with us in the Afghani war with the Soviet Union,
manager of the training camps for the Mujahideen, channel for the US
funding of the al-Qaeda along with the Saudis. The Taliban were among
those who provided warnings about a "terrorist attack." Which Bush
ignored, of course. But then he ignored Africans, Russians, Germans,

As for criticizing Democrats as latent socialists, I'd never do that

First, your organic computer has not carefully examined the various
ramifications of what you assert. Your reference article suggests that
there is an al-Qaeda conspiracy going on world wide with attacks in Kenya,
Nigeria, USS Cole, WTC, Pentagon, Madrid and now Philippines. That would
logically mean that there must be a rather large cast, perhaps of
thousands to be carrying out your Personal Favorite Official Conspiracy
Theory. Now if YOUR conspiracy theory can manage to function with a cast
of thousands, why do you choose to make that a laughing matter when I
propose that there is a world wide conspiracy of people with a lot more
money and a lot longer time frame to establish their roots? You like to
claim that such a vast conspiracy would naturally fall apart because there
would be defectors and whistleblowers that would expose the conspiracy.
Yet you wish to nurture such a scenario in your own mind. Can't have it
both ways, Dick. Now to be honest you must examine your assumptions and
parameters.
Of course, when sheeple don't LISTEN to the whistleblowers and VILIFY the
defectors, there is no internal inconsistency. When the conspiracy has had
a chance to develop over centuries and has grabbed control of universities
and media, judiciary and government, using mind control methods developed
over centuries of experimentation and experience, weaken people
spiritually and physically, and, in sum, dumb them down, the sheeple don't
have much of a chance to catch on or respond to maintain their
independence and freedom.
Second, you have again permitted dumbing down assumptions proffered as
facts to hide the reality. You assume that Madrid bombing was done by Arab
terrorists? That's what they wish for you to believe..... and you buy it,
right down to your socks, like a good sheeple. Better that you learn to
examine the evidence, sort it, sift it, look at it from several angles and
then perhaps you will have discovered something a bit more connected to
reality than NewsMax can provide. Here is an example:

You don't know enough about history to even begin to analyze this
article and that statement in particular. I've tried to help you rise
above the ignorance perpetrated by the schools, but they have successfully
dumbed down another American, apparently past the point of recovery.
Too bad the war criminals like George Schulz and Kissinger can't hold
their little battles on their own planet. Too bad the sheeple can't just
do their little follow-the-leader exercise in their own mind. But the war
criminals plan to own this planet. They own most of it now and the stupid
sheeple keep bleating after them.
Why don't you just take a little break and work on your inner child
and see if that can help you realize the stupidity of sheeple. You don't
have to identify with their ideology, but fear and shame do ugly things to
people and they never arrive at their true potential and they make darn
sure others won't either. I've actually given up the idea that this planet
has potential for great things. I've seen how abysmally stupid the sheeple
