What is the Crime? Where is the Outcry? |

by Prudence Whitemore This time they didn’t go in blazing with guns, but they went in with a mighty force against innocent children, and many innocent women, mothers, wives and husbands. They didn’t knock down their doors and kill them in their beds or drag them screaming into the streets, but herded them into buses, like animals with no rights, no feelings, non-the-less. We had another “Waco” incident, right under our noses, no habeas corpus, nothing that even resembled a desire to talk to these people, or work with them. Just a “take-over”. Are you duly frightened now, you mothers and fathers of home-schoolers, you mothers and fathers who are religiously faithful, (unless you are 'certain groups). You will notice their schools and places of worship are not being targeted in the United States, or investigated, even though we have ample evidence of murder, torture, and sexual enslavement and perversions in some of those groups. Brain washing is the name of the game when any group, whether it is religions, cultural, or military if the people involved don’t have access to alternative education, input and can be free to make their own choices of lifestyles.
One mother, whose son has become a police officer, asks, “what happened to that wonderful little boy I raised, so sensitive, so loving”, he is ‘a police-man’ now, and that is it. That person is gone now, out of her realm of influence, as when people join cult groups or any religion, the bonds are broken entirely. What happened to a simple ‘investigation’ into matters with the FLDS group in Texas? What happened to ‘due process’? This is something we all have to be asking ourselves, for this is one more ‘in-our-faces’ proof that America has been taken over, our constitution that says our rights are guaranteed and set forth by our Creator, is null and void. How much more evidence do we need? How quick people are to condemn this group, and any group who refuses to be a part of our society. I am interested how the Amish get away with it. So far, they have been left alone haven’t they? And we do not know what their daily lives are, what they are taught, who they worship? I do not wish that they were targeted in anyway, but taking notice. Maybe the admiration and public attention to them for so many years is just so ‘set’ into consciousness, that they are being left alone, at least for now. You, you who home school, you have been at the top of the list for a long time. One of these days, you will not be allowed to have control over your own children, their education, their moral attitudes, their belief systems, for that makes the children too bonded to you. Take serious notice of what is happening in California now, the requirements to have a teaching credential being now being brought to the surface. Home schooling, is not perfect of course, but neither is the public school system. How may times have we seen children shot dead in their own school rooms, are we losing count now? Has it become so common place that we are numbed? How many parents hate to send their children to school each day, wondering if they will come back alive? How many of our children are not getting the basic education they need, right in the school rooms, not even supplies these days to help them into a good future? Home schooled children, for the most part, are better educated then their peers, healthier, happier, and more solid in themselves as individuals…..oh, huh oh….I forgot ….that is not encouraged, we sure do not want our children to be able to ‘think’ for themselves. If they did, they might not be so easily programmed into whatever is in their future, whether higher schooling, jobs, military or any choice. They just might not ‘go along’ with the crowds. Oh woe is us. Yet, we see ‘certain’ groups, very foreign to the principles of freedom in America, being allowed to have their own schools, their own languages, and thoroughly program their children in the ways of old, without interference. Do you get the picture yet? So you, as a mother, you as a father, a sister, or daughter, where is your out-cry? No matter what judgments you have already formed against these people because of the press furor, and ‘exposes’, are they not innocent until proven guilty? What happened to ‘other choices’ such as investigation? Such as counseling, such as input from the ‘normal’ LDS church people, such as hearing both sides of the story. No, we would rather turn our attention to the “Idol” and “Survivor” and to non-election smear campaigns, then stand up and be counted not only for the rights of these men, women and children, but for the rights of all Americans. Now these children are being forced into an admittedly flawed foster-child system in Texas, one in which children have even died, who is going to be checking on each and every child to make sure they are healthy, happy and in good hands? The train is coming down the track folks, and it looks like there is no stopping it, there maybe nothing left now but prayer, for by your ‘inaction’, America…the America you were taught about while you were growing up, is lost. The question here is not, as they would want us to think, to judge their lifestyles as 'wrong', but is the law going about handling this in a proper way, or is it another 'invasion' and trampling of our rights as Americans, as rights as human beings. There are those who might disagree with polygamy, that is your right to diagree with it. However, if these men and women want to live this way, it is their choice. If there is child abuse involved, then the state has to take careful steps to discover this and to prove it........in a lawful and decent manner. Is it a case of "you are dammed if you do, and dammed if you don't"? Perhaps it is. Unfortunately it is the innocent children who will suffer, either way, while the world watches. Read ‘em and weep.
