Dentists may soon be getting a potent new weapons with which to wage the global fight against cavities. The University of Maryland has developed a novel new nanocomposite material that can be used not only as filling for cavities, but that will also kill any remaining bacteria in the tooth and regenerate the actual structure lost to decay.

Do you have a chronic degenerative disease? If so, have you been told, "It's all in your head?" Well, that might not be that far from the truth… the root cause of your illness may be in your mouth. There is a common dental procedure that nearly every dentist will tell you is completely safe, despite the fact that scientists have been warning of its dangers for more than 100 years. Every day in the United States alone, 41,000 of these dental procedures are performed on patients who believe they are safely and permanently fixing their problem. What is this dental procedure? The root canal. 97% of Terminal Cancer Patients Previously Had This Dental Procedure, 2/18/12
The antibiotics and ibuprofen had even kicked in so that Hope was in much less pain. And we have an interesting story to tell. Still, we could have done without the wedding morning emergency. If we had practiced better prevention, we would have.

Contrary to popular belief, your teeth are designed to last a lifetime. Over the years the dental industry has made a killing selling the idea that we need to brush our teeth with toothpaste and chemicals in order to keep our teeth clean. In a SHTF or long-term emergency scenario, tooth paste may be less accessible and we will need to fall upon more traditional means to clean our teeth. Below are six alternatives to toothpaste that can be used to not only promote healthy teeth and gums, but most of these alternatives have antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that assist in preventing dental issues such as gingivitis, canker sores and gum disease.

Having a dentist drill out a tooth and fill it with composite, ceramic, or toxic amalgam is not the only way to deal with the onset of a cavity. Sarah Pope, a mother and Nutrition Education and Chapter Leader for the Weston A. Price Foundation, tells the story on her blog of how her young son's cavity was completely healed through one simple dietary, as well as supplementation with a combination of two powerful healing oils. How to heal a cavity naturally and nutritionally without the need for 'drilling and filling', 10/13/11
It takes a special kind of humility for a medical professional to admit that something he or she was taught in medical school, and has long since clung to as fact, is actually false. But a growing number of dentists from around the world, many of whom formerly supported water fluoridation, are now boldly speaking out against it as a long-held, unsubstantiated medical dogma purported to prevent tooth decay, but that actually damages health and provides no legitimate oral health benefits. Recently, there has been intense pressure in many communities to remove fluoride chemicals from water supplies. Particularly in the US where fluoridation is quite common, many local residents have been sending information about fluoride's dangers to their city council members, and even attending and speaking at meetings. But what is often missing from reports about anti-fluoridation efforts is the fact that many medical professionals, including dentists, are also in agreement that fluoride ingestion is dangerous. In other words, these are not just concerned citizens without medical degrees that are raising an issue, but they are people that have been extensively educated in oral health.

Last year, with great reluctance, I was forced to register with a new dentist after a filling fell out and it became difficult to chew.
My previous dentist had been pressuring me into having costly treatments that served no purpose other than lining his own pockets, so I vowed to stop having check-ups altogether. Consequently, it had been more than ten years since I last opened wide and heard the dreaded sound of the drill.
My new dentist, a lady practitioner who came glowingly recommended, just smiled when I told her it had been a decade since my teeth were last examined. ‘Not a dentist by any chance, are you?’ She laughed.
Are you seeing the dentist too often? Pointless X-rays and needless check-ups could be adding up to a rip-off, 4/22/11
Despite recommendations made by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in 1999 that Thimerosal, a mercury-based preservative, be removed from vaccines, the toxic chemical is still added to the majority of flu vaccines administered to women, children, and the elderly, according to the Coalition for Mercury-Free Drugs (CoMeD), a Maryland-based non-profit organization. And according to three recent studies, the symptoms of mercury poisoning are nearly identical to those of autism symptoms, which strongly suggests that mercury in vaccines is responsible for causing autism.
Multiple studies link autism to mercury, which is still present in most flu vaccines, 3/12/11
Ramiel Nagel began investigating the cause of tooth decay after his one year old daughter developed a brown spot on her tooth. Even while eating an all natural and organic diet without any processed sweets, Nagel's daughter's teeth rapidly began to disintegrate and decay. Rather than subject her to costly and overly invasive dental surgery, he chose to find a better way.
It is the missing vitamins in our diet that is the primary cause of tooth cavities. Not a lack of fluoride tooth brushing, or dental visits. By consuming whole and unrefined foods, and not just vegetables, but foods not commonly eaten today, such as liver, bone marrow, unpastuerized milk and butter from grassfed cows, and more, we can reclaim our natural ability to have health teeth and bones.

The use of either black tea bag, or a green tea (no sugar, no fructose, no milk) is a broad spectrum antibiotics.
Ted from Bangkok, Thailand writes: "Traditionally people use clove oil (2-4 drops) to do the mouthwash in 1/4 glass of water will work better as clove has a numbing effect and kill the bacteria also. Dentists also use the clove oil applied directly using appropriate devices, to the area of cavities. Often 1% hydrogen peroxide with baking soda, for me works the best in preventing cavities from getting any larger. However, if the mouth has high number of bacterium, using them a couple of times is helpful. I do it say 2-3 times. The cavities tooth pain goes away quite quickly. The key is to make sure there is no food residue after eating, which means a peroxide mouthwash is to be done after eating of every meal.

Please don't let your dentist mislead you that a root canal is your only option, or that it is entirely safe.
Teeth are similar to other organ systems in your body in that they also require a blood supply, lymphatic and venous drainage, and nervous innervations. Root canals, however, are dead teeth, and these dead teeth typically become one of, if not the worst, sources of chronic bacterial toxicity in your body.

This video from IAOMT.org shows mercury fillings off-gassing mercury vapor. When mercury amalgam fillings are installed in the teeth of people, this mercury vapor is inhaled where it enters the bloodstream. It then causes neurological damage which may lead to chronic fatigue, headaches, seizures, changes in mood and perhaps even autism and Alzheimer's disease.
Toxic Teeth Mercury Amalgam Fillings off-gassing vapor, 10/15/10
Mercury fillings are one of the greatest scams in the history of dentistry. They're intentionally and misleadingly named "silver fillings" so that people don't realize they're made of mercury, and when installed in teeth, they release mercury vapor every time a person chews on them (see video link below). Mercury vapor is then inhaled and absorbed into the body where it can cause neurological disorders, headaches, fatigue, sickness and may even be related to autism in children.
Mercury fillings are also just bad dentistry. They're an ancient technology used as far back as the U.S. Civil War. The metals in mercury fillings expand and contract with changes in temperature, causing micro-fractures in the teeth. They're not even bonded to teeth -- dentists simply cram the toxic mercury metal alloy into a cavity and hope it stays in place. It's cheap, it's crude, and it's ugly. But it has also been the mainstay of western dentistry for literally hundreds of years.
FDA reconsidering safety of mercury fillings, but panel may be rigged from the start, 10/15/10
This video is worth more than a thousand words when it comes to illustrating the very real danger of mercury fillings. The video helps to powerfully demonstrate that if you have these “silver” fillings then every time you eat, chew, visit the dentist or drink hot coffee, the mercury vapors are released directly into your mouth and body.
Why 80% of U.S. Dentists are 150 Years BEHIND the Times…
If you have read or already know about the various more or less serious health hazards lurking in commercial toothpastes, you may want to start using alternatives which don't damage your teeth, gums and/or health and (as has happened to others1) might actually reverse existing damage to your teeth and gums.
Toothpaste Alternatives: Healthier ways to brush your teeth
Researchers at Tokyo Dental College noted that more than 300 different species of bacteria are found in populations of several hundred billion in the human oral cavity. They estimated that this number reaches a thousand billion when the mouth is not sufficiently cleaned.
Most toothpastes available today, with harmful chemicals like sodium lauryl sulfate, PEG-12, artificial sweeteners, and fluoride, will have long-term, negative effects as they are absorbed into the blood.
