For now, it's comforting that with all the voices out there rationally explaining the moral superiority of a voluntary, stateless society (Stefan Molyneux, Marc Stevens, Bill Buppert, Jim Davies, etc.), this lame response by the federal fear-mongers is the best they could come up with. What I worry about is what happens when they get more desperate, when their power really starts slipping away. Expect things to get really nasty then, and the mayhem and bloodshed won't be the result of "self-described anarchists"; it will be the result of the megalomaniacal, narcissistic sociopaths in "government." False Flag for Dummies, 5/1/12
An inquisitive alien visits the planet to check on our progress as a species, and gets into a conversation with the first person he meets. The alien discovers that we live under the rule of a thing called "government", and wants to understand more about what "government" is, what it does, and why it exists. Government Explained, 3/7/12
Well, I'm not thrilled about what my family has had to go through as a result of my wife and I telling the truth. Standing up for what's right is almost always hazardous. I just wish I had found a way to do things without my family having to suffer so much for it, though I'm not sure how I would have done that. As for what I'm proud of, my favorite thing in the world is to hear someone tell me that I helped them escape the cult of statism. And I've been hearing that a lot recently. Whenever I can lend a hand to help someone reclaim ownership of themselves and break the mental chains that were put on all of us, then I feel like it's worth doing what I do. A lot of freedom advocates go out of their way to avoid talking about violent resistance to tyranny. Understandable, they'd rather just use words, win hearts and minds, and try to outlast the current police state garbage going on. But in a way, I think this is a huge mistake. The cult of "government" is built on a series of superstitions and falsehoods. In short, authoritarianism must teach people that bad is good and up is down. Nearly all terminology regarding the mythical beast called "government" is inherently dishonest and misleading. As a result, statists rarely actually say what they mean, in blunt, simple, literally accurate terms. Instead, they do as they were trained, spouting euphemisms, distortions, and obfuscations, in an attempt to make the insane sound sane, and the evil sound good. If you want to see an example of statists not wanting to say what they really believe, and what they really advocate, click on the following link, to a video I just posted, and then try it out on all your statist friends. See if they can honestly say what they believe, and what they condone, after watching it. Larken Rose: Let's Make a Deal, 11/9/11

Now, this story will be familiar to a lot of you, since it's routine federal Gestapo tactics. Just like the private Mafia, the IRS often uses impromptu visits by armed goons to harass and terrorize people, in an effort to help with the IRS' extortion efforts. What made this example a little strange is that these jackboots were there to tell me that I needed to meet with the IRS, after I had spent years asking to meet with them about their bogus allegations, and after they had spent a couple years ignoring my requests. A Farewell from Fascists, 10/6/11
The more the American people remain blindly loyal to those who claim to be "authority," the more those in power have to gain by exploiting that blind loyalty. That is how people in power have always operated. If, by committing evil, they can persuade you to give them more power, they will do it. Yes, there are evil people in the world, and they tend to gravitate toward positions of power. Yes, they are evil enough to commit fraud, theft, assault, even murder, to serve their own ends. And very few of them are stupid enough to be honest and open about who they are and what they want. Instead, they cloak their malice under a veil of good will; they cloak their hatred for humanity under a guise of compassion. And yes, they connive and conspire to use your virtue against you, to use your compassion and goodness to enslave and destroy you. They will do the unthinkable, simply because they know that you won't think of it, and you won't believe it when it happens. Then they will wring their hands, shed a fake tear, and offer their phony heart-felt condolences. After that, what you may mistake for a caring embrace will be them tightening their grip around your throat. Larken Rose: Unthinkable, 9/11/11
What would drive someone to risk his life, maybe even intentionally give up his life, in order to blow something up and kill a bunch of people? It's an intellectual cop-out to just declare that "evil" is to blame, and to pretend that we don't need to understand any more than that. As a mental exercise, consider the question of what it would take to make you resort to violence. Presumably, you wouldn't just kill people for fun, or because you're in a bad mood. There would have to be something happening that was so drastically wrong and unjust (from your point of view), and that nothing else was stopping, that you would decide that violence was your only option. Such angry desperation is, in most cases, caused by "government" action. This doesn't take much theorizing, since many terrorists openly advertise the fact that their actions are in response to some "government" military action or other "policy" that the terrorist sees as a horrible injustice. In other words, terrorism is almost always a byproduct of "government." When the proverbial "little guy" is being continually victimized by a huge, powerful, organized gang of thugs (e.g., "government"), that's when he begins to think that the only power he has left is the power to do harm. Unfortunately, most Americans don't recognize that their own nationalistic, militaristic pack mentality is identical to the perspective of the "terrorists" that Americans love to hate. Consider "9/11," which the U.S. tyrants will be reminding you about quite loudly for the next week or so. Many Americans perceived the events of 9/11 as an abomination so horrible that the only acceptable response was bloody violence. The suffering and deaths of all those innocents was so heinous that the perpetrators (or those imagined to be the perpetrators) had to be destroyed by any means necessary! So far, that's understandable. But then comes the usual follow-up: "...and any country harboring those responsible would deserve the vengeance and wrath of our righteous war machine!" Trouble is, that sums up the mentality of every terrorist in the world. Ironically, what drives people to that mentality is almost always someone else who has the same mentality. The classic terrorist wants to use violence and intimidation to coerce a foreign power into changing its evil ways. That's also exactly what the United States military does. Am I calling the U.S. military a bunch of terrorists? Damn right I am! Terrorism: A Symptom of Government, 9/5/11
I have a message for all the conservative Republicans out there, sick of all the paternalistic, nanny-state, socialist garbage that the Obama regime has been pushing--the wealth redistribution, the attempts to nationalize various industries, the liberal tax and spend agenda, etc. My message to all the conservative Republicans out there who are upset by the way things are going, is this: Serves you right, you unprincipled, hypocritical boneheads. (As you can see, my break didn't make me any more moderate, or any more polite.) No, it's not that I support Obama and his collectivist agenda. It's that I don't support his collectivist agenda or your collectivist agenda. In fact, in principle I don't see a shred of difference between the agenda of the "R" megalomaniacal parasites and the "D" megalomaniacal parasites. If you're a loyal Republican, you're not actually against wealth redistribution, or nationalizing industry, or trashing the Constitution--you just want your narcissistic crooks to be the ones doing it. Debt Ceiling Silliness, 7/18/11
There's a reason this article is so short. There has been much talk about the federal "debt ceiling." It's all absurd. There is no debt ceiling, and never was. It's a show put on by liars and crooks. What good is a "restriction" that someone imposes upon himself, and can undo himself? It's not a restriction at all. Will the political crooks give themselves permission to spend more money they don't have, on the promise that they'll eventually rob you to pay for it? Gee, I wonder. Of course they will. Look how many "restrictions" on the political crooks end with: "unless Congress passes a law over-ruling this." Holy smokes. How stupid are Americans? The fact that this passes for "news," or a serious topic of discussion, is pathetic. "That gang isn't allowed to do X, unless they first give themselves permission to do X." And THAT is what passes for useful, learned discourse in America today. Gack. Aak aak, gackity gack. Debt Ceiling Silliness, 7/18/11
Dying for a Lie, 7/14/11
Today, to escape the hectic stress of life for a moment, I took a stroll through the cemetery in the town where I grew up. I saw lots of names I knew, but the main thing I noticed was how many American flags were adorning grave sites, and how many gravestones mentioned that the deceased had either died in combat or served in the military. If I were a good, loyal, patriotic American, the sight would have filled me with nationalistic pride, and thankfulness for the soldiers' sacrifice. But it didn't. It filled me with sadness. There is no greater love than that shown by someone who lays down his life for his friends. But there is no greater tragedy than someone laying down his life for a lie. And that is exactly what every soldier, of every country, who dies in battle, does. Larken Rose: Dying for a Lie, 7/14/11
Scared of Freedom, 7/11/11
There are a lot of people who consider themselves freedom advocates, who, with righteous zeal and indignation, vehemently rail against the injustice, corruption and oppression "government" continually spews forth. However, many of those same people, when they hear someone suggesting life without the monstrosity called "government," will immediately go into turbo-backpedal mode, insisting that some "government" is needed, that we need to work to fix the system, and that we need a good "government," that just does good stuff, and protects us, and so on. The situation is a lot like a battered spouse, who is given the opportunity to escape her abuser, but who insists that she can't leave, that he really loves her, that she needs him, that the relationship can be fixed. Such a response shows that, as much as the abuser is a nasty scumbag, there is also a serious problem in the mind of his victim, which enables the abuse to continue. Scared of Freedom, 7/11/11

Indiana: Full Frontal Fascism, 5/13/11
Something huge--huge and not good--just happened in Indiana, which will be little more than a blip in the propaganda that passes for national news. The Supreme Court of Indiana just ruled that in Indiana, if a police officer decides to illegally come into your house, you're not allowed to do anything to stop him. According to "Justice" Steven David, resisting an admittedly "unlawful police entry into a home" is against "public policy." Got that? If you live in Indiana, and a cop decides to invade your home without a shred of legal justification, it is considered a crime for you to do anything to stop him. Reasonable Tyranny, 4/27/11
There are things called principles, that people ought to (but usually don't) stick to even when making an exception seems "necessary" and "reasonable." Usually people start complaining that those in power have "gone too far" long after the actual principle involved has been killed and buried. The current absurdity with the TSA is a fine example. Anne Tompkins: Tyranny's Whore, 3/29/11
Is there any limit to how stupid statist propaganda can get? There doesn't seem to be. In the modern vernacular of the U.S.S.A., wanting to be left alone makes you a "terrorist," while wanting to meddle in everyone else's lives by way of the violence of "government" (a la Emperor Obama) makes you a "progressive, concerned leader." And unfortunately, it seems the American public, for the most part, mindlessly agrees with and repeats such idiocy. As a sickening example, twelve colossal morons (also known as a "jury") recently declared one man to be a criminal, for having had the gall to mint silver coins, and suggest that people should trade with silver, instead of with the crumbling "dollar." No, what the man did was not immoral, or fraudulent, or even against the stupid "laws" of this stupid "nation," but it is against the interests of the international banking cartel, which owns Congress and all its little mercenaries ... like Anne Tompkins. Not to Kick Her While She's Down, But ...
Yet another story of fascist police state lunacy is now spreading around, this one about a mother of three being detained, interrogated, taken captive ("arrested"), and so on. This one was a joint effort between various levels and agencies of jackbooted thugs. I highly suggest you read the whole ridiculous story, before reading the rest of this article. You can find that story by clicking HERE.
Now, plenty of people are blasting the psychotic fascists for their behavior, and rightly so. I'm guessing you don't need me to tell you that what happened to the woman was bad. (Duh.) However, one thing about the story jumped out at me, and it may be something that most people won't consider. The woman's horrible sin of taking a picture of a retired helicopter was, as the story says, so she could use the image on her "support the troops" web page. Of course, plenty of people will notice the irony of her patriotism leading to her being treated as a criminal and a terrorist. Not to Kick Her While She's Down, But ..., 2/18/11
Red Pill or Blue Pill?, 1/30/11
How many truths are there that you don't want to know? If your spouse was killing and eating your neighbors, would you want to know? If your hero turned out to be a liar and a crook, would you want to know? Worse yet, if your God turned out to be some story made up by a drunk, would you want to know? Would you want to know, if you had accidentally spent your whole life cheering for the bad guys? How scary and disturbing would a truth have to be before you would prefer to not know it? In the movie, "The Matrix," the choice the main character is given is basically: take the red pill, and learn the whole truth, or take the blue pill, and continue believing the relatively comfortable, familiar lie. Which would you take? And are you sure about that? Red Pill or Blue Pill?, 1/30/11

Killing Politicians, 1/22/11
A story is now circulating around about a Massachusetts blogger who, regarding the shooting of Gabrielle Giffords, said "one down, 534 to go" (referring to the total number of federal congress-critturs in the House and Senate). He also added that it is "absolutely unacceptable to shoot indiscriminately," and suggested that people "Target only politicians and their staff and leave regular citizens alone." Of course, the average citizen, who worships the ruling class as if they're a bunch of infallible deities, will think the blogger to be the lowest scum in the world. How dare he even discuss killing the High Priests of the cult of "government"? What blasphemy! Well, I want to take issue with the guy's comments, but for a very different reason. New Year, New Paradigm, 1/3/11
So, the people are upset at what "government" is doing. The people are outraged, fit to be tied. This time, "government" has gone too far! This time it's serious! And the people are hopping mad! They're not going to take it anymore! The people are demanding change! In other words, it's business as usual. The level of oppression and the intensity of the discontent may fluctuate, but it's always been there, for all of my life and all of yours. "Government" has always been acting against the will of the people. Politicians have always been corrupt, and have always been violating the rights of individuals. It was happening before the ink was dry on the Constitution, it was happening for thousands of years before that, and it continues to happen today. And it keeps getting worse. Whether it's war-mongering, socialist wealth redistribution, police state fascism, or government take-overs of more and more aspects of our lives, the story is always the same: "government" power increases, liberty diminishes. Centuries of campaigning, voting, lobbying and protesting have been utterly powerless to stop it. New Year, New Paradigm, 1/3/11
Life Sentence for Being Honest, 12/30/10
To those who haven't heard, Richard Simkanin just passed away, while still in the custody of the federal parasite class. As many of you know, he was sentenced to seven years in a cage, by a mentally unstable, god-complex fascist named John McBryde. (I had the displeasure of witnessing the "judge's" delusional psychoses in action at Richard's trial.) Richard's main "sin" was not withholding taxes from his employees--who didn't actually owe anything. Life Sentence for Being Honest, 12/30/10

Are We Free Yet?, 11/5/10
So another pseudo-religion mass cult ritual has occurred (the election), and power has changed hands. Well actually, some of the puppets on the stage were changed, but the hands pulling their strings are the same as ever. How many zillions of man hours and gazillions of dollars did Americans put into the election this time around? And what do you suppose they'll get for their efforts? A new paint job on the old shackles. You could call that a prediction, if you want, but it's about as much a "prediction" as "predicting" that Mount Everest will be in the same place tomorrow that it is today--not exactly something that requires the amazing powers of foresight of a great soothsayer. So lots of Republicans were elected. Guess what that means? "Government" will continue to take lots of your money and spend it on destructive things, while bossing you around and trying to control your life. You didn't really think an election was going to change that, did you? You might as well "vote" to have Mount Everest be in Florida. Are We Free Yet?, 11/5/10
Stating the Bleeding Obvious, 7/15-18/10
Sometimes it can be difficult deciding how to state the bleeding obvious, when your target audience has been carefully trained to miss the bleeding obvious. To wit, it's possible to demolish the fundamental assumptions underlying statism using very simple lines of reasoning. And for the ex-statist, the logic is undeniable, and the rational conclusion self-evident. But for the thoroughly indoctrinated (and that included me not many years ago), sometimes the most simple explanation causes the most drastic cognitive dissonance. Do good, upstanding citizens have a moral obligation to allow themselves to be oppressed, harassed, terrorized, assaulted, and wrongfully detained or imprisoned? Most people would say "no." But would most people actually mean it? There are many examples of "law enforcers" treating innocent people like dirt. Random stops at "sobriety checkpoints" is a favorite of mine, since the local jackboots do that in front of my house on occasion. (In fact, they're doing it right now, as I write this.) The border Gestapo is even worse. And a YouTube search for "police abuse" will provide you with hours of infuriating examples of fascist pigs in action. A Duty to be Oppressed?, 5/14/10
Tyrant in You, 3/30/10
Someone told me about a recent Facebook poll, asking something like, "What would you do if you were President?" I find the question itself depressing, for several reasons. First of all, that anyone would want to be President is depressing. To want to be President means you think that, if given the power to control 300,000,000 people, you could make their lives better than if you just left them alone. What a fine combination of arrogance and insanity. Second, it's a safe bet that almost everyone who answers the question will feel noble and compassionate as they do so, describing all the ways in which they would use such power to help mankind. They don't understand that it is utterly impossible for "government" to help mankind, because all it ever does is initiate violence. You can't help mankind by adding more immoral violence into society. Tyrant in You, 3/30/10

It shouldn't surprise anyone that people in positions of power will try to hold onto that power, and will use whatever arguments they can think of--however irrational or immoral--to try to justify the power they have. A Man with a Gun!!, 11/19/9
A recent story regarding an "open carry" movement in California (of all places) gives a very telling glimpse into the mentality of the general public, and the state mercenaries ("police"). Here's the link. The actual substance of the story would be laughably mundane if people weren't so indoctrinated. The "story" was: "Some people are carrying firearms, and not doing bad stuff with them, and they're allowed to!" How brain-washed does a populace have to be for that to be "news"? What will the headline say the next day? "Man with axe chops up firewood!; no charges filed." Don't get me wrong. I'm glad the open-carry folk are bringing the issue up; it's just pathetic that the country has sunk so low (with California in the lead) that it's even necessary. But what is interesting about the story is the mentality of the general public, and the cops, in California. For example, the news story plays a clip of what I assume was a 911 call, where someone reports a guy (brace yourself, this is scary) sitting around a Starbucks wearing a firearm. Oh, the horror! (The caller, demonstrating either profound ignorance of firearms, or her x-ray vision superpowers, says the semi-auto handgun "appears to be loaded.") A Man with a Gun!!, 11/19/9
